Go Red For Women
Print PageFebruary is all about the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women campaign, designed to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke and save women’s lives. Let’s kick things off by wearing red on Friday, February 2nd!
During the entire month of February, the Go Red for Women campaign encourages all women to schedule a visit with your doctor to learn your personal health numbers, including Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Blood Sugar and Body Mass Index (BMI), while also assessing your risk for heart disease and stroke. These can all easily be checked during your Well-Woman Visit, which gives your doctor a chance to review your overall health and to ensure you’re on track to achieving ideal cardiovascular health. Early detection of any issues can make all the difference in a successful battle against heart disease, the number one cause of death in women!
It’s always a good idea to keep tabs on your health and know your potential risk factors. Take a few minutes to complete this quiz and then work with your health care provider to reduce, control, or prevent as many risk factors as you can. Pass this quiz to your female friends and family so they can identify their own potential risk factors. You’ll all be glad you did it!
